Screen print run 4
I have tried re-printing my designs in silver. The paper has made it a slightly blue hue. These pieces are identifiable as vinyl's because people associate the color with framed mounted silver discs.
Perhaps I can create a metallic series of Gold, Platinum and Diamond discs. This will tie in neatly with the thematic of my project. I want to express of physicality of owning vinyl; something that we are emotionally attached to and love.

Framed gold disc
I finally mounted and framed my work. I bought the mount board and got support at the fabrication facility to get it cut to size. I hadn't done this before so trying to get my head around cutting the middle out to make a "window" took a while. The artwork itself needed to be slightly larger so that it just doesn't fall through.
I've made sure there is a lot of "breathing" space between the frame and the image so that it doesn't look too constrained in a small space. I wasn't sure if it was going to be portrait or landscape, it could be either really.
Maybe I should try framing one within a square shaped frame also.

Screen print run 3
I printed out my designs in gold like how people have vinyl gold discs framed on their walls. The black paper helps it stand out.
Overall, I'm feeling positive with how this one turned out.

Screen print run 2
Experimenting with incorporating color into my designs from having worked in black and white. It looks colorful to look at but I'm not sure if that is the mood I want to convey.

Different densities of line, black discs
I did some designs and then went back over the top with it over and over to build up almost a solid disc. The overlapping lines on the last one are so thick that it almost looks like a vinyl. When you compare it with the one that has one layer of line, they both look very different from one another.
I think the middle one looks most successful. The lines look almost undistinguishable in the last one so I think maybe it's better not to make it too dense.

Screen print run 1
My first run at screen-print at Bower Ashton campus.
The idea was to print a semi transparent disc and then print over the top of it the lines in gloss. It looks slightly varnishy but it didn't turn out how I expected it to be.
I'm still quite a novice user, a lot of prints didn't come out right because the paper got stuck to the screen. I wasn't sure to leave the dot in the middle as positive or negative on the Folex. At least I will know for next time.
